"Misinterpreted Intentions"

Dear editor,

I would just like to clear up a misinterpretation of the household, The Apprentices of St. Joseph, which was portrayed in an article a few weeks ago. The article was very well written, and we are grateful as a household to have been mentioned in the Troubador. The article stated that the household "focuses on discernment and preparation for marriage…" However, as a household we do not focus on this, but upon a deeper realization. We know that Christ is the perfect model for all men. So therefore, we look to the man who raised Christ in His manhood—St. Joseph.

Just as Christ did, we too apprentice ourselves to St. Joseph, knowing that he will teach us the ways of true manhood in all things, as he taught Our Lord. Thus we are preparing for whatever vocation God calls us to. As apprentices of St. Joseph, we know that we need to be better men now and as we travel down the path God has ready for us—whether it be marriage, priesthood, religious life, or the single state. Thank you once again.
