The Wisdom of TV

The other day, a friend of the farmers here brought his kids over to visit, and one of the kids noticed the cloth that’s hung over the TV when it’s not in use. Though I wasn’t there for the conversation, I believe it went something like this…

“How many stations do you guys get?” the kid asked.

“None. We just watch videos,” answered the farmwife. (I use that term as a compliment, by the way. Though maybe I should start saying farmhusband, too.)

“You don’t get any TV?” the kid replied.

“We don’t like commercials.”

The kid gasped. “Then how do you know what to buy?”
